Caroline Mercer

Growing up in Michigan, Caroline was captivated by the stories of the Deep South told by her grandparents and mother, who treasured Southern cookbooks and china and silver from places like Savannah, Charleston and Williamsburg. Over the years, Caroline has travelled extensively through these cities collecting Southern antiques. Her favourite piece is a pair of reproduction Bruton brass sconces with hand-blown lanterns from Williamsburg that evoke memories of the Governor's Palace - a blend of American country charm and European sophistication. Each visit deepens her appreciation of how Southern craftsmen transformed Europe's best patterns into a distinctive American style.
