In the maze of European flea markets, the Bustehrad Collectors' Market shines brightly as a beacon for serious collectors. Located in the picturesque town of Bustehrad, with a population of just 3,000, this market has grown from a local gathering of antique enthusiasts in 1979 to a magnet for international collectors and aficionados.
Located just a 30-minute drive from the vibrant city of Prague, the journey to Bustehrad offers a delightful juxtaposition of the urban and the tranquil. Those opting for public transportation can take the green metro line to Dejvicka and then enjoy a scenic bus ride to the market. While the journey is comfortable, what awaits at the destination is even more enchanting.
As you enter the Bustehrad Market, you'll be welcomed into a world of the rarest of collectibles. From the elegance of antique furniture, the charm of ancient paintings, the intricacy of clocks, to the brilliance of bronze and silverware, each stall is a treasure trove. Collectors with a penchant for porcelain, coin and matchbook collections, wooden puppets, and even war memorabilia will find a haven. The market's vast array of goods reflects the rich history and cultures from which they come.
One of the outstanding features of the Bustehrad Collectors' Market is the depth of knowledge that the dealers bring to the table. Their expertise not only helps inform buyers, but also fosters a friendly yet professional atmosphere. And while the treasures here come with a price tag that reflects their authenticity and value, the art of bartering thrives. Negotiating is part of the experience, and closing a deal brings its own sense of accomplishment.
Dedicated collectors know the mantra well: "The early bird gets the worm." With gates opening at 06:00, the Bustehrad market rewards those willing to greet the dawn. The early hours promise the first selection of unique items, and for many, it's a small price to pay for a treasure that tells a story.
More than just a marketplace, the Bustehrad Collectors' Market is a rich tapestry of history, culture, and passion. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a curious visitor, this market promises a journey through time, one artifact at a time. A trip to Bustehrad is not just a shopping experience; it's a journey into the heart of European heritage.

25th November 2017 at 20:19Went there with great expectations, but got really disappointed. As an experienced visitor to French and Belgium flea markets, it was hard to negotiate as the local dealer’s prices was sometimes twice as much as in France (in a country where you buy a beer for less than an euro). And the quality of the merchandise was not in any way great. Well, you clearly got the feeling that the prices were raised when you were not a local. Not worth the while, but the weekly Saturday flea market in Prague saved the trip. Much better in every way!
