Held on the grounds of picturesque county fairgrounds in Springfield, the Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market has earned its stripes as one of America's premier flea markets over the past twenty-five years. Celebrated by such notable names as Country Living, Martha Stewart Living, Country Home, and CNN, this market has become a treasured gathering place for collectors and dealers alike.
The market operates monthly, providing a consistent source of Americana and primitive treasures, with a break in December, February, and July. It stands as a testament to the country's rich heritage, offering an eclectic mix of items such as metal buckets, Shaker boxes, cross-stitch samplers, and calico quilts. Visitors wander the lanes lined with farmhouse antiques, including blanket chests, rugs, milk jugs, and rocking chairs that hark back to a bygone era.
The Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market is not just a marketplace; it's a living, breathing gallery of American history. Each item on display tells a story, each vendor shares a piece of the past, and each transaction is a transfer of heritage. The well-preserved dishes and tableware offer a glimpse into the daily lives of our ancestors, making history tangible and accessible to all.
Throughout the year, the market hosts three extravaganzas that transform the quiet fairgrounds into a bustling hub of antique lovers. During these events, the number of vendors jumps from a respectable 200-400 to a staggering 2,500, showcasing a wider range of treasures. Some vendors, in a nod to the venue's pastoral charm, set up shop in cattle barns and poultry houses, adding to the market's unique appeal.
In today's digital age, the Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market embraces technology and fosters a sense of community through its online discussion forum. Here, attendees can connect with vendors, preview upcoming merchandise, and even post wish lists, ensuring that the market experience begins long before they set foot on the fairgrounds.
Fall is a particularly good time for bargain hunters as dealers look to liquidate their inventory for the winter, making it an opportune time for enthusiasts to add unique pieces to their collections at competitive prices.
The Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market is a celebration of America's rich cultural tapestry. With its diverse offerings, vibrant community, and the enchanting backdrop of the county fairgrounds, it offers a uniquely American experience that preserves and shares the stories of our past.

15th February 2016 at 16:31Lots and lots of vendors. it gets a bit confusing at times as far as where to go because there are so many lanes and ways to take. there are outdoor vendors as well as 3 nice size buildings, a nice size tent and they used many animal shelters too for housing booths. There’s also many different places to get food. in and out. I found some very neat stuff. I’ve seen some amazing stuff here. I got some good deals but many of the vendors are not shy about charging high prices. along with your antiques you do have your junk/garage sale booths. There was a nice variety of different types of booths though. It was fun and if you like antiques and/or flea markets then i highly recommend this. Its worth it.
