Yard Sale

Found downtown in Allegan, Michigan, at the Allegan County Fairgrounds, the Allegan Antiques Market has appeared in Antiques Magazine as one of the best antique shows in America. That’s just one of the accolades of this event which originated in 1978 with just 190 vendors.

Now the vendor lineup has grown to over 400 vendors, with 200 merchants across seven buildings and 200 sellers outside under canopies. The market is open rain or shine once a month, six times a year, and the admission is only $4.

The Allegan Antiques Market features a diverse range of collectibles and antiques in nearly every category. Participating vendors specialize in sporting and fishing collectibles, advertising, vintage jewelry, furniture, primitives, glass, kitchen items, china, pottery, and more.

Decor seekers have made the Allegan Antique Market a favorite destination thanks to the wide range of items perfect for the home. Shoppers find it easily to find a piece that’s right on trend with the latest in home design, be it industrial, refurbished, French country or any other style.

If you’ve loaded up your arms with all of your buys or if you have a large item you must have, you can take advantage of the Allegan courtesy carts. Staff can assist you with loading large items as needed, plus many dealers are open to shipping merchandise if needed.

Picnic areas and food services are on hand for you to make an entire day of the market — and once you see the size of it, you’ll certainly need to stay for more an hour. Food offerings typically include grilled meats, sandwiches, fries, sausages, fish & chips, pizza, ice cream and elephant ears.

For serious thrifters, camping out is available — sites are available for $20 a weekend. The surroundings of the river and trees certainly makes a pretty place to wait the arrival of the sale.
