Spanning more than 43 miles along historic Old Valley Pike, U.S. Route 11, the Route 11 Yard Crawl is an extraordinary annual event that transforms the highway into a bustling marketplace. Held on the second Saturday in August, this expansive yard and business sale showcases a wide variety of items and treasures in towns from New Market to Stephens City.

The Yard Crawl is a collaborative effort involving various towns along the route, including Stephens City, Middletown, Strasburg, Toms Brook, Woodstock, Edinburg, Mt. Jackson and New Market. In addition, the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce and the Shenandoah County Tourism Office play a critical role in organizing and promoting this remarkable event, underscoring the sense of community and partnership that drives its success.

Participants and visitors have the flexibility to begin their exploration at any point along the route, with no official starting point. However, the official route of the Yard Crawl runs between New Market (I-81 Exit 264) and Stephens City (I-81 Exit 307), and includes a variety of sales and offerings to keep participants interested.
