The owners of Antique Alley in Santa Barbara, California believe that shopping should be fun. The fun comes from searching for that special item, finding something unexpected, creating a wonderful atmosphere in the store, and employing friendly and helpful staff. These ingredients are key to the store's continued success. Thanks to them, shoppers keep coming back, and collectors know they can always find a treasure.
Antique Alley has its roots in the Santa Barbara swap meet of the 1980s. Its success there allowed it to grow into an independent store, first in a small space on the boardwalk. It has been in its current location on State Street since 1993, and has been able to expand since then. The family-owned business is now home to more than 25 different vendors. This organic growth over the years speaks to the quality of the items found here.
From the outside, Antique Alley looks intriguing and definitely invites you in. Often, a few racks of vintage clothing spill out of the front doors just to be extra enticing. In addition to clothing, shoppers can find artwork, jewelry, lighting, china, postcards, small musical instruments, furniture, fans, vases, ornaments, vinyl records, curiosities, and more.
Antique Alley is laid out in a way that encourages shoppers to go deeper into the store. As you enter, you walk down an aisle with vendors to your left and right displaying beautiful items. Further into the store there are different rooms with more items, and in the back there is a small covered patio with more vintage items. It really feels more like exploring than shopping, and you never know what you might take home after a visit.
