The Chester Decorative, Antiques and Art Fair feels like a true celebration of the history of the north of England. The event brings together many dealers from this part of the country, and often dealers come from further afield, as and when the organizers recognize a high standard of antiques that add value to the fair. It only takes place over one weekend during the year, and this date varies slightly year to year, so any interested parties should make sure they note the dates in good time so as not to miss out on the chance to browse through these fantastic stalls.
Though there has long been an antique fair at Chester's Racecourse, the Chester Decorative, Antiques and Art Fair has only existed in its current form since 2019 when new organizers took over the event. This popular cultural fair was relaunched for a new generation of collectors and home interior stylists. Now the fair sees a much greater emphasis on providing art, antiques, and Twentieth-century designer pieces for contemporary and traditional homes.
The dealers at the Chester Decorative, Antiques and Art Fair are one of the reasons that visitors will return to this event again and again. They are so full of knowledge and so happy to share their information about their wares. Returning customers will feel like they are being greeted by old friends. Many of the vendors set up shop at this event each time it rolls around, though many new collections were curated with the revamping of the market in 2019. All in all, there is a fantastic mix of goods to be found here, and definitely something to suit all tastes.
The Chester Decorative, Antiques and Art Fair hosts more than 50 dealers exhibiting their wares over three floors of the County Grandstand building. It is a great location, making for superb shopping conditions whatever the weather. Collectors will have a blast here, and even the most casual browser will be hard pushed to leave empty-handed.
