Eurantica is a fine art fair held annually since 1977 in Brussels, Belgium. It usually occurs in March, taking place roughly a week after the popular Affordable Art Fair. This fair is an eagerly-awaited event in the antiquing calendar each year, as more than 100 vendors take part and display items of exceptional quality. Dealers that attend come from many different countries, so by now this fair also attracts an international audience. Pieces come up for sale here that have previously not been seen on the market, which makes it a must-visit for the most enthusiastic of collectors.
Exhibitors at Eurantica always display a wide range of different antiques and works of art. Keen shoppers will find furniture, paintings, sculptures, tapestries, glassware, icons, silver, jewelry, bronzes, textiles, clocks, ancient weapons, engravings, coins and notes, tools, and instruments. There are also examples of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, ethnography, archaeology, Oriental art, porcelain, ceramics, primitive art, and more. Additionally, there are design and modern artworks, making this show popular with interior designers.
Eurantica is a true melting pot of classic and modern art. The atmosphere at the fair is really welcoming and pleasant. Lighting is soft, and dulcet music accompanies the visitors all around the different stands. Once inside, it is easy to forget that the rest of the world exists, and visitors take a journey back through time as they meander through the displays. Every vendor offers something unique and exciting and prides themselves on undertaking detailed research for each piece they have for sale.
Before Eurantica is opened to the public, a team of esteemed professional check all the items that are to go up for sale. They are tasked with guaranteeing the authenticity of the pieces and are therefore rigorous in their inspections. This means that collectors can buy at this event with confidence and be pleased that any additions to their collections will be of the highest quality indeed.
Due to the difficulties caused by the pandemic, in particular the restrictions on the organization of events, the Eurantica Brussels Fine Art Fair has been cancelled. This event has been replaced by TWENTY, a fair dedicated to the XXth century.
