Historica Plus Antique Gallery is located on a site in Clearfield, Pennsylvania that has quite a bit of history. The building is the Leitzinger Brothers Building and it has been a prominent fixture in this town since 1901. For 95 years, it was a 5-story department store and that store closed its doors in 1996. In 1999, the Antique Mall took its place and it seems that this was the perfect way to keep this building alive.
Occupying only three of the five floors, Historica Plus Antique Gallery covers 24,000 square feet and offers shoppers and collectors a huge selection and variety of items. It doesn't look that big from the outside, so it's a pleasant surprise to walk through the front doors and see the space unfold before you! Much of the interior design of the building has been retained from the old department store, with narrow corridors, amazing ceiling tiles, arched doorways near the entrance, and stairs to each floor. There is a small exhibit at the entrance of the Antique Mall that invites you to learn about the history of the building and the area. It is a nice touch that will definitely get you in the mood for antique shopping!
With so many different dealers trading at Historica Plus Antique Gallery, there is something for everyone and a wide range of prices. Visitors can expect to find vintage toys, military memorabilia, furniture of all shapes and sizes, photographs, books, pottery, silverware, clocks, ornaments, vintage clothing, glassware, telephones, art, vinyl records, magazines, and much more. Each vendor's area is clearly laid out, so it feels like you are walking from store to store as you move through the store.
The staff at Historica Plus Antique Gallery is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are always happy to assist in a collector's hunt and share the stories behind the unique items found in this antique mall. Every visit is different, so it is always worth stopping by.
