The Oklahoma City monthly market, also known as the OKC Flea Market, originated in 1980 and is the oldest and most respected antique and collectible market in the state of Oklahoma, USA. The creators of this market were Dorthy “Dot” and Calvin Buchanan and this couple had an amazing knowledge of antiques. They spent many fun years traveling to antique shows throughout the country before starting a show of their own. Their grandson took over the market in 1995 and continues the passion and enthusiasm for both antique items and putting on a fantastic flea market.
The OKC Flea Market takes place at the Oklahoma City fairgrounds, inside the Bennett Event Center. This huge warehouse hosts many events throughout the year and is an outstanding indoor venue for this popular flea market. All of the vendors are incredibly well organized throughout the space. Each is allocated a clear spot and displays their wares in such a way that no rummaging is required.
