The Oklahoma City Monthly Market, also known as the OKC Flea Market, began in 1980 and is the oldest and most respected antique and collectibles market in the state of Oklahoma, USA. The creators of this market were Dorthy "Dot" and Calvin Buchanan and this couple had an amazing knowledge of antiques. They spent many fun years traveling to antique shows around the country before starting a show of their own. Their grandson took over the market in 1995 and continues the passion and enthusiasm for both antiques and putting on a fantastic flea market.
The OKC Flea Market is held at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds in the Bennett Event Center. This huge warehouse hosts many events throughout the year and is an excellent indoor venue for this popular flea market. All of the vendors are incredibly well organized throughout the space. Each one is given a clear space and displays their wares in a way that makes it easy to browse. There are always some new vendors to meet at this flea and others that have been around for many years.
With so many vendors, there is obviously a huge amount of goods with a great variety to browse through at the OKC flea market. It is easy to spend a few hours here as so many of the items will take you on a trip down memory lane and tempt you to start reminiscing with both the vendors and other shoppers enjoying the flea! Visitors can expect to find artwork, jewelry, books, furniture, watches, vintage lunch boxes, cowboy boots, toys, sports memorabilia, comic books, glassware, ornaments, bicycles, and Americana, to name a few!
In addition to the fantastic booths full of antiques and vintage items, the OKC Flea Market also has a nice selection of local arts and crafts for sale. Of course, no great flea market would be complete without some food vendors. Whether it is baked goods to take home or refreshments for hungry shoppers, this flea has it all!
