Antique collectors by their very nature are fascinated by history and its physical leftovers found in the present and for this reason, they will love the building housing Coliseum Antiques. The store opened in 2004 after a lengthy renovation project undertaken by the current owners. The restoration works carefully retained as many original features as possible and in many cases where 'new' material was needed the owners repurposed and upcycled. A small extension was added to make enough space for the 26 different dealers that trade here and it has been a hotspot for collectors ever since.
The dealers that work in Coliseum Antiques each have a lifelong passion for antiquing and many years of experience in the industry in one way or another. For some, this has involved travel to different countries, exploring flea markets the world over, and bringing all this knowledge back to their own business. Others carry on a family tradition and are avid collectors themselves. Chatting with the dealers here is one of the things that makes the shopping experience so good and worthy of a return visit. Their enthusiasm is contagious and shoppers will enjoy their items even more after learning so much about them.
The items in Coliseum Antiques cover such a wide range of different types from different periods that there is definitely something for everyone here. The furniture runs the gambit from traditional to retro and it is surrounded by crystal, glassware, military items, linen and lace, paintings, mirrors, light fittings, Asian artifacts, French brocante, toys, vintage clothing, clocks, jewelry, and so much more.
As well as selling, Coliseum Antiques are happy to help collectors with other needs they may have. They offer a repair service for anything from vintage telephones to lamps. They also keep a range of cleaning products that are tailored to take the best care of anything that may be a little delicate. It is a store that simply loves antiques and anyone who loves them too will become a repeat customer here.
