Grand Bazaar NYC, formerly known as GreenFlea Market, has been operating every week, rain or shine, since 1985 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, making it one of the oldest flea markets in New York City. It was among the first open-air markets in the city, and it is still considered today one of the best indoor and outdoor weekly flea markets in Manhattan, with its positive and vibrant shopping environment that reflects New York City’s originality and diversity.

With its large variety of antique, vintage, and handcrafted merchandise sold by 120-150 vendors and long-standing customer favorites, Grand Bazaar NYC is the ideal place to look for something different to give or to keep. A more extensive list of typical items that can be found at Grand Bazaar NYC include antiques, vintage collectibles, new handcrafted items, jewelry, furniture, clothing, new and vintage furniture, rugs (both old and new), lighting fixtures & parts, architectural salvage mantels, mirrors, China, glass, vinyl LPs, antique maps, new & used books, and custom eye-wear.

Flea market enthusiasts will find wonderful things at reasonable prices — most of them probably not available anywhere else. No wonder that every Sunday close to 10,000 visitors flock to the market to discover the new products that the vendors have unearthed during the week! Some of the handicraftsmen at the market also offer custom-made merchandise, from jewelry to furniture and clothing. In fact, the vendors take pride in helping shoppers find just what they’re looking for. Last but not least, special themed events and pop-ups highlight the different categories found at the market, and the organizers of Grand Bazaar NYC are always featuring new one-of-a-kind vendors throughout the year.

Grand Bazaar NYC truly has something for everyone, as this unique and dynamic market features talented local artists, designers and craft-makers, reputable independent vintage and antique dealers, and dishes from delicious artisanal food vendors.

The icing on the cake? Shopping at Grand Bazaar NYC is a good deed, as this flea market is the funding source for four public schools in the surrounding neighborhood. 100% of profits from the market benefit over 4,000 school children.

  1. This is a Sunday only flea market. Went to check it out to see what was on offer in terms of food and retailers. The food is limited to some greek food, quiches, cookies, and soup. The pricing was on the premium side for some regular looking product at a flea market, guess it comes with the territory. Most vendors were selling vintage/older items with a few selling their own brand of clothes. Overall, prices did not appear to be cheap as you’d expect at a flea market.

  2. Great antiques and collectables at very fair prices compared to what is left of the few other feeble markets in town. Don’t miss it, definitely something for everyone. Dealers are somewhat negotiable if you approach with reasonable counter offers. Dealers change every week so come often so you can to see new merchandise every week. I especially like the outside dealer selling antiques, cameras, collectables and old souvenirs of New York at very fair prices, Pleasant to deal with. He is usually found at the South East corner of the yard in nice weather.

Hint: try to get to the market when it opens at 10 AM for best stuff and best bargains, but good deals can be had all day. Plan to have lunch in the market with the great food vendors,

  3. You can find tons of bargains here. I look out for Art-deco themed American relics. There are a bunch of vendors specializing in their own niches. Lamps, carpets, furniture, household items, food etc.

  4. Grand Bazaar NYC is one of the must sees of NYC. Sundays only. Great food, great artists, antiques, vintage, new, old, and everything in between. There’s truly something for everyone. Love the indoor outdoor concept. And it benefits local schools!!

"Reserving flights 8 to 9 months in advance helps me manage my airfare expenses. Even in the best of times, many of the markets I follow in France don't publish their plans that far in advance. Fleamapket provides the newest information, well before I can find it online."
