The idea for Lanoba was born in 2015. Its founder, Lars, emigrated from Denmark to the USA and wished that great Danish mid-century design should be preserved and made available to the public. So he began to assemble a collection of classic pieces. This love of collecting was instilled in Lars at a young age, thanks to a childhood spent frequenting flea markets and spending his spare time restoring the treasures he found. It was a natural progression for him to open a shop to share this passion with others.
All the products for sale in Lanoba are Danish. The entire collection comes from private homes rather than professional dealers. Lars travels to Denmark several times a year, scouring the country for quality vintage furniture and other collectibles. Preferred pieces are from the 1950s-1960s and of course no copies, no new productions and no replicas are welcome! Where necessary, each vintage item is refinished with exceptional care and expertise to give the piece a new lease on life. No major changes are made to any item; the process is simply to clean, repair, sand and finish.
Lanoba has a slightly industrial look from the outside, and the inside appears to be an enticing mix of warehouse and showroom. The quality of the goods is obvious from the outset and every customer is warmly welcomed. Considering the high standard of the items and the work that goes into them, the prices are very reasonable and there is a bit of wiggle room on some! All kinds of beautiful furniture can be found here, including coffee tables, sofas, dining chairs and tables, drawers, chests, wardrobes, desks, vanities, nightstands, lounge chairs, and more.
It is obvious that the people at Lanoba love their work and the opportunity to share that love with the visitors who come through the door. Furniture is sold and packaged here with a little bit of history and a lot of authenticity and craftsmanship.
