The idea of Lanoba was born in 2015. Its founder, Lars, emigrated from Denmark to the USA and wished that great Danish mid-century design should be preserved and accessible to the public. Therefore, he began assembling a collection of classic pieces. This love of collecting was instilled in Lars at a young age thanks to a childhood spent frequenting flea markets and spare time used to refurbish the treasures found. It was a natural progression that he would open up a store to share this passion with others.

All the products for sale in Lanoba are sourced from Denmark. The entire collection comes from private homes rather than professional dealers. Lars travels to Denmark many times each year and scours the country searching for quality vintage furniture and other collectible pieces. Preferred pieces hale from the 1950s-1960s and of course, no copies, no new productions, and no replicas are welcome! Where necessary, each vintage item is refurnished with exceptional care and expertise to give the piece a new lease of life. No big changes are made to any items; the process is simply to clean, repair, sand, and finish.

Lanoba has a slightly industrial look from the outside and the inside appears to be an enticing mixture of warehouse and showroom. The quality of the goods is obvious from the outset and every shopper is warmly welcomed. Considering the high standard of the items and the work that goes into them, the prices are very reasonable and there is a little wiggle room on some! All kinds of beautiful furnishings can be found here, including coffee tables, sofas, dining chair and tables, drawers, chests, wardrobes, writing desks, vanity chests, bedside tables, lounge chairs, and more.

It is obvious that the staff at Lanoba love their work and the chance to share this love with visitors that step through the door. Furniture is sold here and packaged up along with that comes a little bit of history and a whole lot of authenticity and craftsmanship.

"Reserving flights 8 to 9 months in advance helps me manage my airfare expenses. Even in the best of times, many of the markets I follow in France don't publish their plans that far in advance. Fleamapket provides the newest information, well before I can find it online."
