Lasalle Shoppes stands alone on Highway 77 in Waco, Texas, making it impossible to miss. Even if it were surrounded by stores, it would still stand out because of the fantastic nature of the building itself. It was built in the 1940s to accommodate travelers who needed a place to rest on Highway 77 from Dallas to Austin. Over the years, it has been home to many different businesses, including more than one antique store. In 2010, it found its current incarnation thanks to a passionate family business venture, and it looks like it's here to stay!
When it started, Lasalle Shoppes had 7 individual vendors trading under its roof. Over the years, more than 200 vendors have passed through the doors, each adding their own flair to the collection of antique and vintage items displayed in this store. Many have gone on to open their own antique stores, and Lasalle Shoppes is proud to offer a little help to those passionate antique collectors who want to get into the business and need a place to start. At any one time, shoppers can expect to encounter 50 different dealers in this antique mall.
Thanks to the variety of vendors, the merchandise at Lasalle Shoppes is always changing and the displays are always fresh. You never know what you might find, but you can generally expect to find antique scales, vintage toy cars, glassware, lighting fixtures, mirrors, advertising memorabilia, Americana, desks, tables, kitchenware, chairs, taxidermy, antique books, sporting equipment, vintage clothing, and more.
Lasalle Shoppes is one of the reasons why the Waco area is a hotspot for antique lovers and collectors. It is the perfect place to start a shopping spree, although with so many incredible finds guaranteed, it is entirely possible to blow your budget in this one store.
