Located at 62 Blunder Road, Oxley, Relove Oxley is a standout destination in Brisbane for lovers of vintage, retro and antique items. Housed in a series of corrugated iron industrial sheds, the eclectic store offers a treasure trove of unique collectibles, furniture, homewares, bric-a-brac and fashion in a charming, nostalgic atmosphere.
The shop is the brainchild of partners Jason and James, who have filled the two-storey space with an impressive array of items. The ground floor is packed with everything from vintage Matchbox cars and Bakelite kitchenware to mahogany side tables and Art Deco cupboards. Shoppers can also find crystal wineglasses, vintage posters, old-school Pokémon trading cards, browse through the second hand vinyl collection and an eclectic range of vintage clothing and accessories. Upstairs, the focus shifts to fashion, children's clothing, vintage toys and furniture, with racks dedicated to affordable glam wear, casual children's clothing and even a collection of stuffed animals from various eras.
But Relove Oxley isn't just about shopping; it's also a community hub where visitors can relax and enjoy a coffee. The in-house coffee lounge, with red booths made from recycled pallets and an astroturf-covered crate coffee table, is a cosy place to take a break. The café serves Veneziano coffee and a selection of snacks, including Byron gourmet cakes and homemade banana or raspberry and coconut bread.
One of the unique features of Relove Oxley is its commitment to affordability. Despite the high quality of its products, prices remain reasonable, often comparable to those found in high street shops. This accessibility, combined with the store's extensive and varied stock, makes it a must-visit for serious collectors and casual shoppers alike.
Relove Oxley also supports the local community by taking selected items on consignment and renting out space to other retailers. The Purple Bedroom, a notable example, occupies a corner of the store, adding to the diversity of what is on offer.
