Supervlooi is the largest, fully-covered flea market that takes place in the Northern Netherlands. All kinds of second-hand products are offered up for sale here. Some vintage items, many collectible goods, and more than a few quality antiques can be found. Shopping here is like experiencing a real treasure hunt; you never know, you just might find that one special item that you have been long searching for!
There is a small 3,50€ entrance fee to attend Supervlooi (5,00€ for “early birds”). However, children under 12 come in for free. This flea market is a great day out for the whole family, and a lot of effort is made to ensure that kids enjoy the flea as much as the vintage-loving grown-ups! With a friendly atmosphere, this market has a real community feeling to it. Vendors and visitors alike are ready to strike up a conversation, and the vendors are especially ready to share the stories behind the goods they have for sale.
Visitors to the Supervlooi that are keen collectors can expect to find a wide range of different items for sale here. It can take a little bit of hunting to find what you seek, but the search is always worth it. Breadbins and other kitchenware can be found, alongside telephones, toys, radios, copper items, chinaware, pottery, artwork, vintage books, clothing, jewelry, curios and ornaments, collectible tins, vinyl records, musical instruments, record players, comics, train sets, and more.
Many of the vendors at the Supervlooi are keen up-cyclers. Some of the stalls display some creative ideas for breathing new life into old and sometimes tired items. Of course, these unique goods are available to buy. The vendors are also happy to share their ideas and spread a little inspiration to others that might like to try their hand at re-using something old for a new purpose.
