In the early 2000s, The Big Flea Market burst onto the antiquing scene in the USA. This was the flagship show, and since then this vintage & antique market has only grown in popularity. The DC show is the Mid-Atlantic's largest indoor flea market. One of the shows takes place in the massive Dulles Expo Center in Virginia over a weekend, roughly every month throughout the year. It has a second location too, to enable extra shows to take place. It is a good idea to keep up with their website so you do not miss the dates for one of these excellent fleas!
Hundreds of vendors take part in The Big Flea Market, which is one of the reasons for its popularity. So many vendors obviously translate to thousands of unique vintage and antique items, crying out for a new home! This flea always takes place for a full weekend, which gives collectors enough time to make sure they have seen all that the vendors have to offer. Though it is a fantastic market for lovers of all things vintage and antique, there is plenty here to appeal to the more casual flea market shopper too. With so many stalls, there is certainly something for everyone here.
There is an entrance fee to attend The Big Flea Market. However, one ticket is good for both days of the flea, so it is a great value. Though there are over 600 stalls, there is space for everyone indoors, so this flea is equally enjoyable to shop at come rain or shine. Browsing through the goods here makes for an incredible treasure hunt as you never know what may turn up with a good rummage; items of furniture are easy to spot, though shoppers may also find artwork, toys, lamps, books, vintage clothing, and other fashion accessories, jewelry, advertising memorabilia, Americana, and so much more.
