Great Wetherby Racecourse Antiques Fair

A friendly and down-to-earth event, that feels connected to its surrounding region, in terms of vendors and customers and in the items for sale

Located within a few hundred metres of the great North Road linking London and Edinburgh (York, Leeds and Harrogate are less than 15 miles away), the Great Wetherby Racecourse Antiques Fair is definitely one of those events that feels connected to its surrounding region, in terms of vendors and customers and in the items for sale.

This explains why buyers and dealers travel from a wide area to attend the Great Wetherby Racecourse Antiques Fair, which is especially popular with collectors and buyers from the North East.

This great fair is set in the fabulous Bramham Hall Exhibition Centre and Millenium Grandstand with numerous outside pitches. Several of the outdoor stalls of this flea market feature agricultural implements and rustic household items recalling the area’s rural heritage. A few vendors also sell railway memorabilia.

At the inside stalls of this flea market you will see ceramics, glassware, prints, books, ladies’ clothing and accessories, everyday kitchenware, jewellery and watches, with an emphasis on vintage rather than antiques. You stand a fair chance of picking up something appealing and affordable at this friendly and down-to-earth event.

  1. Surprisingly it was very quiet there, lots of stalls but not many punters, which luckily for us meant we came home with a boot full of bargains. The prices are always good at Wetherby as it’s not as big as some of the main fairs such as Newark and Kempton Market, but the dealers always have some great stock and I have never come away disappointed or empty handed.

The pace of the fair is lovely too, with very friendly people all happy to have a chat, tell you a little bit of the history of your buy or their lives and we made loads of great contacts for the future.

  2. Great fair

Always look forward to the fairs and usually find a nice deal or two. Makes a great day out as there is on site catering. Nice relaxing atmosphere with a varied range on goods on sale from vintage to antique eclectic to traditional.

  3. Not a Giant Fair

Advertised as a giant antique fair. Sadly not less than 40 stalls mostly selling costume jewellery and pottery.
