The Shops at Marlborough Barn is a multi-vendor shopping village that is the perfect location for the antique enthusiast and the more casual connoisseur of such items. Originally a 19th century dairy farm in Connecticut, USA, the property was purchased in 1960 by the current owner's grandfather, who built several reproduction-style buildings to house the original business. It has been in its current form since 2008 and seems to have found its purpose as a home for antique shops.
Driving into The Shops at Marlborough Barn is still very much like driving into the old farm. The buildings retain much of their original appearance and wide open spaces surround the main buildings. It was voted the #1 Multi-Dealer Antique Centre by Best of Connecticut Magazine and it is easy to see why. Once you start your shopping adventure here, it feels like the place never ends! Just when you think you have seen it all, you look around another corner and discover that there is more.
The Shops at Marlborough Barn website has a comprehensive list of all the shops and dealers currently based in the space. This allows collectors who may be looking for something specific to have a look at the dealers and get an idea of the types of antiques on offer. However, there is so much to see in this sprawling complex of shops and dealers that a visit in person is the best way to fully explore the inventory. Shoppers can expect to find furniture, jewelry, vintage toys, mirrors, carpets, Americana, advertising memorabilia, militaria, kitchenware, chinaware, glassware, artwork, lighting fixtures, clocks, watches, old newspapers, decorative items and much more.
With so many different traders, The Shops at Marlborough Barn has a wide range of prices. There is something to suit all budgets. Friendly staff are always on hand to help with your treasure hunt and, of course, haggling over prices is always an option!
