Tuscaloosa is one of Alabama's larger cities. Its rich and complex history attracts visitors with a thirst for historical knowledge and this, along with the presence of the University of Alabama, has made it a hub for many museums and sites of cultural and historical interest. Many antique shops are also located in this city, so visitors can not only learn about the history of this city, but also take home a souvenir from the past! Collectors and antique lovers will also be more than impressed with the variety of antiques offered by the many stores found here in Tuscaloosa.
Near the river and Capital Park in downtown Tuscaloosa is a wonderful collection of antique shops. A stroll down University Boulevard will bring you to many, starting with The Attic Furniture, which offers many unique pieces of furniture, all in great condition and begging to be given a second life in your home! A little further down the street is Olive Tree, which appears a bit chaotic on entry and requires a bit of determined treasure hunting to come away with that special antique, but there is always something to be uncovered here. Almost next door is Alabama Vintage LLC, which is the perfect place to pick up some vintage souvenirs of Alabama itself, specializing in clothing.
There are also some incredible shops that require a short drive out of downtown Tuscaloosa to explore, but are more than worth the trip. The Alabama Antique Market is a huge antique mall, so huge that the aisles have street names to help shoppers navigate the store! On the south side of the river is the Druid City Vintage Vendor Market, which opened in 2019 and sells quality vintage and antique goods with a passion for giving new life to slightly worn items. There are interesting antique shops on every street in Tuscaloosa, and shopping here is always time well spent.
