The Antiekmarkt op de Dreef starts every year in April and takes place every second Saturday until October. This is a well-known antique and vintage market in the Netherlands in the city of Haarlem, not far from Amsterdam. Once an important trading port, it retains its medieval character with cobbled streets and gabled houses. Famous for its tulip fields, art museums and almshouses, there is plenty to do in this city. The seasonal antique and flea market is another compelling reason to spend a day here!
Nearly 100 stalls are set up along the tree-lined promenade at the Antiekmarkt op de Dreef. This gives the stalls a bit of protection from the sun and bad weather, although each stall has its own canvas roof. The vendors are set up on both sides of the wide path, leaving plenty of space for the crowds to easily navigate the market. Some of the vendors are regulars at this antique market, but there are always many new faces and a fresh selection of antiques and vintage goods to admire.
Antiekmarkt op de Dreef always offers a wide range of antiques and curiosities to delight both collectors and the general public. Many pieces are found here with overseas origins, although the majority are local historical artifacts and decorative items. Visitors can expect to find antique weapons, jewelry, furniture, lamps, paintings, china, glassware, tools, dishes, clocks, and much more. With so many different vendors, there is definitely something for everyone.
Antiekmarkt op de Dreef is well supported and has an excellent reputation for offering a higher quality of antique and vintage items than the average flea market. As it does not open until 9 am, there is no need to get up at the crack of dawn to see the best that this market has to offer. Being in town, there are also refreshments nearby so you can easily recharge your batteries for more bargain hunting.
