The Carbootsale Horst has grown over the years to become the largest outdoor flea market in the Netherlands. Despite the size, it retains a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, which is one of the reasons for its popularity. It is an easy location to find, at the event site of the Kasteelpark Ter Horst, just off of the A73. Anyone is welcome to participate, whether a hardened vendor or someone having a one-off clear out of their house. All kinds of sellers are found here, bringing with them a wide range of different vintage and collectible goods.
There are over 450 large pitches available to vendors at the Carbootsale Horst. Additional space is also there for numerous market stalls with topsails. For guests, there is a huge parking lot, free of charge, and just a small fee for adults to enter the market. Children under 12 go in for free. With toilets on-site and stalls dedicated to catering with delicious hot and cold meals, it makes it very easy to spend the whole day browsing around the stalls here. It is always a Sunday event, and though dates do vary, it usually takes place twice a month. The spacious field is huge and largely without cover, so those planning a visit should keep an eye on the weather forecast and bring an umbrella if necessary!
With so many vendors taking part, visitors to the Carbootsale Horst are guaranteed to see a little bit of everything for sale here. Vintage clothing can be found, along with old telephones, vintage computer games, toys, comics, vintage books, postcards, advertising memorabilia, war medals, stamps, jewelry, trinkets and ornamental objects, chinaware, lamps, furniture, bicycles, curios, and a whole lot more. Every Sunday that the flea takes place brings new collectibles to the tables. This is why collectors local to the area are sure to be regular attendees of this flea market.
