The antique store Good Old Days has been open for business since the early 80s and in its present location since the 90s. It is found in Chicago, Illinois, on a street that used to be known as the antique lover’s row due to the accumulation of similar stores on the same street. Over the years, many of the stores shut down or moved on, yet Good Old Days, widely considered to be one of the best, remains and is as popular as ever.
Good Old Days is a family-owned store and the couple that run it have a lifelong passion for trading in antiques and collectibles. By now, there is not a lot that they do not know about different antiques! Therefore, the store is able to offer a wide variety of different kinds of antiques for sale and the owners have equal knowledge regarding the background of all the items they have. Some of the many areas they focus on are advertising items, architectural salvage, historic black and white photos, quality antique furniture, stained and beveled glass windows, signage, restored vintage radios, TVs, and vintage barware. This list, however, is by no means exhaustive!
When you enter Good Old Days, it can be hard to know where to start. The merchandise is spread over three floors and in some spots, it appears to be piled on top of each other! Down in the basement, some of the best bargains can be found, though this level of the store requires the most digging to uncover the treasures. This adds to the joy of shopping, as you never know what may be hidden in this store.
Good Old Days has an excellent location that is convenient for all. The view of the front of the is deceiving, as it looks like a small store. One really must step inside to appreciate how many excellent antiques are stocked here, and what a gem this store is to collectors of all kinds.
