Established in 1970, Grafton Flea Market is one of the longest-running weekly flea markets in New England. It is really popular among the local population as it seems everyone in this state loves to spend some of the weekend rooting around a flea! As well as the stalls full of bargains, there are food stands and refreshments here too, making it a great place to bring the family and spend a few hours enjoying the atmosphere - especially when the weather is fine.
Grafton Flea Market is an early riser. Doors open at 6 in the morning, and of course there are always a few keen shoppers waiting for vendors to unpack their vehicles to be the first to look through the wares. The market takes place every Sunday, and though official hours state that it is open until late afternoon, many vendors seem to close up a little earlier than information says, so for the best selection of second hand and vintage goodies it is best to arrive at this flea earlier in the day.
With both indoor and outdoor areas populated by vendors, the Grafton Flea Market can be enjoyed come rain or shine. Both areas are incredibly spacious, so even on busier days there is always plenty of room for everyone and this is a flea that rarely feels crowded or stressful. It is definitely possible to lose a few hours strolling around here as there is so much to see! Serious collectors will want to wear comfortable shoes, as it can take a bit of patience and searching to find the gems at this market but rest assured, they are there to be found and it is all the more rewarding to do so when they are a little hidden away.
As with all the best fleas, bargaining is encouraged at Grafton Flea Market. All of the prices can be considered negotiable, and the vendors encouraging friendly banter adds to the friendly atmosphere here.
