Luikse Markt Arnhem takes place during the summer months in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Many vendors gather on the parking lot of the GelreDome to display their wares to the public. This is always a well-organized and well-attended antique and vintage market, as it has gained a reputation for selling many interesting antiques, curiosities and collectibles. It is not what you might think of as a typical flea market, with only second-hand goods to be found, which is what makes it such an exciting market to browse.
A parking lot may not sound like the most glamorous of locations to host the Luikse Markt Arnhem, but it is such a large space that vendors can comfortably set up their stalls without feeling crowded. Once all the stalls are set up, with their striped tent roofs providing shelter, the space transforms into a beautiful market square. The awnings provide a bit of protection from the weather, so whether it is sunny and warm or a bit rainy, bargain hunters are not completely exposed to the elements.
With around 400 vendors taking part, you never know what you might find at Luikse Markt Arnhem. In the past, the stalls have featured mannequins, furniture, old toys, crockery, jewelry, telephones, cameras, decorative items, artwork, stamp collections and many curiosities that defy categorization. Vendors come from all over the Netherlands and some travel from surrounding countries to be a part of this great market. With the crowds that usually attend, it can be worth the trip to claim a stall here.
There is a small entrance fee to visit the Luikse Markt Arnhem and children under the age of 12 get in for free. This small fee is more than worth it for the chance to see so many great vintage and antique items in one place.
