With the rural country side of Wellman as idyllic setting and perfect grounds, the BARN is one of those special vintage markets that does not come around too often. Usually taking place twice a year in spring and fall, The BARN at Yoder's Farm is a unique one-of-a-kind flea market and vintage show that welcomes nearly 40 vendors and over 3,000 visitors in just two short days.
The BARN was created and is run by four ladies who call themselves The BARN Girls. Mothers and daughters with a love for old, used and vintage finds, their team is key to the successful running of this flea. As well as objects with a history, these ladies also have an eye for pieces that can be restored and repurposed. And they can truly turn items of junk into things of beauty that one simply must have in her or his home.
Spring and autumn weather in Iowa usually makes it easy to enjoy a day spent outside, and the grounds of the BARN are the perfect place to spend such a day. The 40+ vendors are carefully chosen each time to provide great variety and the goods for sale are a lot of fun to browse through, even for those not shopping. There are vintage pieces of furniture, some original and some with fantastic design work, clothing old and new, jewellery collections, ornaments and other decorative items, garden tools and furniture and a wide range of organic produce in all shapes and sizes.
With a pizza oven and local ice cream vendor among the available refreshments, the BARN is the perfect place to spend a day out and pick up some unique and bespoke pieces for the home.
