Undesignable Market is a new generation of design flea markets. Urban, rich, and inspiring, this traveling market, halfway between an antique fair and a popular flea market, is now the super-unpacking event for professional outdoor design dealers. Free and accessible to all, the "Undesignable" markets offer a selection of vintage 20th-century furniture, from iconic pieces to the smallest trendy decorative objects, and welcome visitors several times a year during the Paris editions in beautiful and emblematic locations throughout the French capital.
Launched in Paris in 2015 with just twenty dealers, Undesignable Market now counts more than 100 regular exhibitors from all over Europe and has become the 1st open-air market for design professionals and enthusiasts. This market allows buyers or amateurs to discover 20th-century French design, Scandinavian, Dutch or Italian furniture, signed by designers who have left their mark on history: Jean Prouvé, Pierre Paulin, Pierre Guariche, Cees Braakman, Friso Kramer, Arne Jacobsen, Charles & Ray Eames... to acquire collectors' items at an affordable price or simply to fall in love with smaller objects.
Each edition of the Undesignable Market is an opportunity for visitors to stroll through the stalls and discover a wide range of carefully selected furniture, from iconic pieces to smaller decorative objects. The open-air market is set in a friendly environment where it is pleasant to spend time with family and friends.
Undesignable Market is a 20th-century furniture and design market with a strict policy regarding the objects presented. Therefore, copies or new pieces, pieces in poor condition, reconstructed pieces, as well as vintage clothing, LPs, and CDs/DVDs will not be accepted. You are guaranteed to leave with an original item, not a pale copy or a "Frankenstein".
The Undesignable Market is also a way of working that gives dealers the opportunity to offer interesting prices: the fairs are organized over one day and the price of the stands is voluntarily low, which gives European exhibitors the opportunity to come and present their objects without too much expense and without any repercussions on the selling price. This allows amateurs to make real bargains and to meet local and foreign antique dealers. Depending on your taste and budget, you will be able to browse and fall in love with beautiful, carefully selected items, or small objects or furniture at affordable prices, some of which are still in their "juice" but in good condition and ready to be displayed.
Much more than a flea market, Undesignable Market is a real meeting place for design enthusiasts and professionals to exchange ideas and discover new trends.
