Urban Industrial is a studio specialising in antique furniture and interior design. The ethos and passion behind the shop is one of reclamation. Wherever possible, items are meticulously and expertly restored, and the owners take great satisfaction in seeing would-be junk given a new lease of life. Architectural salvage is one of the most popular areas to raid for incredible inventory for the store. For the owners, the preservation of heritage is paramount, and for visitors, it is a joy to see and perhaps take home a piece of their work.
Urban Industrial's showroom covers a total of 1200 square meters. It is filled with reclaimed items sourced from all over Europe and beyond. The owners recognize the skill and resources that go into making furniture and other objects, and that this value requires that they be restored and cleverly reused. There is a workshop on site where the staff carry out the restoration projects. This makes Urban Industrial a great place to visit for those who want to try their hand at restoration!
The items found in Urban Industrial are perfect for residential, commercial and theatrical spaces, and many of the items are available for rent as well as for purchase. New items are constantly being added to the store, so you never know what you might find. Past stock has included boxing equipment including speedballs and gloves, tables and chairs, lighting fixtures and lamps, cabinets, signage, paintings, mirrors, vases, curiosities, and so much more.
Once located on Holzmarktstrasse along the Spree River in Berlin, Urban Industrial has now expanded to two new locations. The Berlin showroom, a 200-square-meter space at Dahlmannstr. 27, offers a carefully curated selection of industrial-style treasures, while the larger warehouse and showroom facility, just a 30-minute drive outside the city in Neu Bochow, spans 1000 square meter. While these new locations may not catch the eye of the casual passerby, those in the know will be delighted by the vast collection of unique finds waiting inside.
